Privacy Policy

How AI Teacher uses and protects information while providing curriculum lessons, live conversation and whiteboard feedback.

1. Scope and controller

This policy applies to the AI Teacher website and classroom at teacher.math-kids.club. The data controller is Math-Kids.Club. This policy is effective from 3 August 2026.

2. Information we process

Account and profile information

  • Email address, authentication and account identifiers.
  • Selected country, curriculum, academic year, age setting, subject, language and lesson.
  • Credit balance, measured AI usage and transaction references. Payment providers process payment details; we do not receive full card or PayPal login details.

Lesson information

  • Voice audio sent during a live lesson, together with its transcript.
  • Messages typed to the Teacher and mathematics entered on the whiteboard.
  • Submitted whiteboard images, strokes, text, question details and expected-answer metadata.
  • Teacher responses and information needed to maintain the current lesson session.

Technical and support information

  • Session identifiers, connection state, token usage, timestamps and error or security logs.
  • IP address and basic request information used for service security, rate limiting and diagnosis.
  • Messages and attachments sent when contacting support.

3. How we use information

  • Provide an interactive curriculum lesson and respond to spoken, typed and whiteboard answers.
  • Select age-appropriate curriculum material and maintain lesson progress.
  • Operate accounts, credits, purchases and usage billing.
  • Protect the service, prevent abuse, close abandoned AI sessions and investigate failures.
  • Answer support requests and meet legal or accounting obligations.

Where UK or EU data-protection law applies, processing is based on providing the requested service, legitimate interests in operating and securing it, legal obligations, and consent where consent is specifically required.

4. Voice, AI and automated processing

Microphone audio, transcripts, typed messages and relevant lesson context are processed by Microsoft Azure AI to produce the Teacher’s response. Raw microphone audio is not saved by the Teacher application. The transcript is kept ephemerally while the live lesson session is ongoing and is not retained by the Teacher application after that session ends. Diagnostic logs retain non-content events such as connection state and error details, not transcript text. Automated safety checks may inspect current lesson text, but their logs record the resulting safety decision rather than the lesson text.

Microsoft states that prompts and responses submitted to Azure AI are not made available to other customers or OpenAI and are not used to train foundation models without permission. Azure may apply automated safety filtering to lesson inputs and responses.

AI Teacher provides educational guidance. Its responses and feedback are generated automatically and may be incorrect. They are not used to make legal or similarly significant decisions about a student.

5. Whiteboard submissions

When a student selects Submit, the whiteboard image and structured working are saved on our server so the Teacher can evaluate the attempt and so we can support or diagnose the lesson. Avoid placing names, contact details or unrelated personal information on the whiteboard.

6. Service providers and transfers

We share information only where needed to operate the service:

  • Microsoft Azure: live AI, speech transcription and safety processing.
  • Amazon Web Services: EU-hosted application infrastructure and operational storage.
  • Payment providers: purchase processing and confirmation when a user buys credits.
  • Authorities or advisers: only where required by law or necessary to protect users and the service.

Where information is processed outside the UK or EEA, we rely on the provider’s contractual and legal transfer safeguards as applicable.

7. Children and families

AI Teacher is designed for students and may be used by children. We aim to minimise collection, use high-privacy defaults and avoid advertising or unnecessary tracking. A parent or guardian should create or supervise a child’s account where required by the laws of their country. Parents and guardians may contact us about access, correction or deletion of a child’s information.

8. Retention

  • Raw microphone audio: streamed for the live lesson and not stored by the Teacher application.
  • Live lesson content and transcripts: kept ephemerally while the lesson session is active and not retained by the Teacher application after it ends.
  • Whiteboard submissions: retained while needed for lesson feedback, service support or diagnosis, then deleted or anonymised.
  • Accounts and credit balances: retained while the account is active and then deleted or anonymised, subject to legal requirements.
  • Purchase records: retained as required for accounting, tax, fraud prevention and disputes.
  • Security and reliability logs: contain non-content operational data, are retained for a limited period and then deleted, rotated or anonymised.

9. Cookies and local storage

The classroom uses essential cookies or browser storage for login, security, interface preferences, the installation prompt and the one-time guided tour. The public homepage uses local storage to remember that the early-access invitation has already been shown. We do not use these technologies for targeted advertising.

10. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing of personal information, request portability, withdraw consent where processing relies on consent, and complain to a data-protection authority. We may need to verify the requester’s identity or parental authority.

11. Security

We use encrypted connections, access controls, server-side AI credentials, rate limits and session timeouts. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so students should not provide sensitive personal information during lessons.

12. No sale or targeted advertising

We do not sell personal information. AI Teacher does not display targeted advertising or share lesson information for behavioural advertising.

13. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as the Teacher service develops. The effective date above will change when material revisions are published.
